One million Hungarians see James Cameron’s Avatar

James Cameron film Avatar reached another milestone when the one millionth cinema ticket in Hungary was booked on Saturday.

No film had drawn more than a million spectators to Hungarian cinemas since the first Harry Potter movie in 2001.

Hungary’s most watched films are Miska Mágnás (1948), with 9.5 million box office punters, Mór Jókai’s K szív ember fiai (The Sons of the Stone-hearted Man) with 9.38 million, and Egri csillagok (The Stars of Eger), with 9.36 million.
