PC sales, prices to rebound this year in Hungary, Acer says

The recent plunge in sales of personal computers in Hungary is likely to be reversed following the elections later this spring, according to Miklós Major, an executive of PC manufacturer Acer, reports Napi Gazdaság .

While sales of desktop PC have suffered a 20% drop, the market for laptop computers has endured a plunge of 40%. Meanwhile, the overall market has become increasingly price-sensitive, and is now dominated by machines selling for less than Ft 100,000.

According to Major, prices are likely to go up again as the global market rebounds.
