Gov’t withdraws tenders for EU-funded IT grants

The government has withdrawn all European Union-funded public administration IT tenders in the 2009-2010 action plan under a decree published in the latest official gazette Magyar Kozlony.

The decree mandates the National Development Minister, with the cooperation of the Public Administration and Justice Ministry, to produce a plan for making cost-efficient IT services to local councils.

The tenders were worth about HUF 300m.

Hungary’s new government said earlier that it would re-channel EU funding to support SMEs.
