The number of workers employed at the two Hungarian units of Chinese IT corporation Huwaei has jumped in the last few months from 280 to 500, and the company has plans to double its current headcount by the end of the year as it eyes creation of a new regional center.
According to napi.hu, the firm, which employs 100,000 worldwide, is likely to introduce more complex manufacturing processes at its Hungarian unit. Currently, Huawei only does assembly work in the country.
The company is best known for its mobile internet modems, which are used by every major cellular provider.
Hungary could be the second regional base for Huawei, and the first in Europe. The factors in favor of the decision include local governmental support, good geological location and a trained workforce.

Excellent! By “good geological location”, I take it
you mean sitting on a fault-line in a sinkhole-prone
area, so that when it all goes down the tubes they
can clean up on the insurance?
