Hungary’s GDP per capita calculated on purchasing power parity (PPP) is 65% of the EU average, placing the country among the bottom third, based on data published by Eurostat on December 15.
The lowest figure, 44% of the EU average, was measured in Bulgaria, while the highest, 271%, in Luxembourg.
In the group where GDP per capita calculated on PPP is 30% to 50% lower than the EU average, in addition to Hungary, are Poland, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia, while Slovakia and the Czech Republic are 10% lower than the average. [eu.mti.hu]
