Prosecutors search premises of companies involved with controversial King’s City casino project

Prosecutors have searched the premises of companies involved in the planned casino development in Sukoró dubbed King’s City.

A large volume of documents and computer data were seized from the headquarters of KC Bidding Kft. and King City Management Kft. on October 18. The companies are said to believe the legality of the searches is in doubt.

The project itself has become a major political issue in Hungary, with charges that top officials in previous governments had improperly favored its backers.

KC Bidding Kft. said the searches were performed after their owner, Vigotop Limited, had announced that it would initiate international court proceedings against the Hungarian state. [nol.hu]
