Hungary could wait until spring to seal a deal on precautionary financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund and the European Union, daily Nepszabadsag said on its website on Tuesday, citing an unnamed government source.
An agreement with the IMF/EU could be reached “sometime in the autumn, but perhaps sometime in the spring”, the source told the paper. The government is in “no rush” to get the credit considering the National Bank of Hungary’s international reserves are over the earlier EUR 33bn-35bn, the source added.
